The Festival de Cine Fantástico de Canarias Isla Calavera held its fifth edition between 19 and 27 November, with the sponsorship of the Tenerife Island Council, the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development, Canary Islands Film, Development Society of Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, the Department of Culture of La Laguna City Council, the Tenerife Film Commission, the ZEC Consortium and the Ministry of Culture and Sport, among other public and private entities.
During the nine days of the Festival, the Island was visited by an important cast of national and international personalities, headed by the producer Enrique López Lavigne and the actress and producer Carolina Bang, who received the Isla Calavera de Honor Award and the S. S. Venture Award for Canarian talent, respectively, at the Opening Gala.
