Synopsis

Águila Roja is a Spanish adventure television series with elements of intrigue and romance, produced by Globomedia for Televisión Española. It premiered on La 1 on Thursday, February 19, 2009, and became a ratings success. In the United Kingdom it was broadcast on March 8, 2010 on ITV2 and in France on France 3.

The series is set in the Madrid of the Golden Age, during the reign of Felipe IV (around 1660). The story focuses on the adventures of its protagonist, Gonzalo de Montalvo (David Janer), who leads a double life: schoolteacher by day and masked hero by night.
